Who We AreSt. Peter's Reformed Church has a rich heritage steeped in solid Biblical principles. We exist to bring glory to God through lives transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We desire to live and serve as a community of God's people, exhibiting and extending the love and hope of Jesus Christ.

St. Peter's Reformed Church Belief Statements
The Word of God
We believe the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God and the foundation for our faith and life.
The Triune God
We believe in one eternal God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully divine, born of a virgin, sinless in life, powerful in His works, who died for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to the Father, and will return in power and glory.
Salvation and the Holy Spirit
We believe salvation is only possible through the renewing work of the Holy Spirit. Through His presence and power, believers are enabled to live lives that honor God.
Eternal Life and Resurrection
We believe in the resurrection of all people: the saved to eternal life and the lost to eternal separation from God.
The Church
We believe Jesus Christ is the head and Lord of His Church. The Church is redeemed through His sacrifice, strengthened by His life, united in faith, called to grow believers, and commissioned to share the Gospel throughout the world.
Humanity, Marriage, and God’s Design
We believe every person is created by God in His image as male or female, with both reflecting His design and purpose. We believe marriage is established by God as the covenant union between one man and one woman.

Our History
For more than 165 years, St. Peter’s Reformed Church has been a community built on faith, family, and a commitment to following Jesus Christ. From our beginnings in 1858 to today, God has continued to guide our congregation through seasons of growth, change, and ministry.
1858 — Founded in FaithOn November 14, 1858, forty families came together to form the German Evangelical Protestant United Congregation. From the beginning, our church was built on a foundation of faith, family, and a desire to worship God together.
1912 — Becoming St. Peter’s Reformed ChurchThe congregation joined the Pittsburgh Synod of the Reformed Church and officially became known as St. Peter’s Reformed Church, embracing our historic Reformed identity.
1936 — A New ChapterFollowing the merger of the Reformed Church with the Evangelical Synod of North America, the congregation became St. Peter’s Evangelical and Reformed Church, continuing our commitment to Christ-centered worship and ministry.
1958 — United Church of ChristAs the Evangelical and Reformed Church joined with the Congregational Christian Churches, our congregation became St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, continuing a legacy of faith while adapting to a changing world.
1990 — Honoring Our HeritageThe congregation chose the name St. Peter’s Reformed Church, United Church of Christ, emphasizing our historic connection to the Protestant Reformation and our Reformed roots.
1998 — Returning to Our FoundationsSeeking to remain faithful to the biblical foundation and conservative teachings of the Reformation, the congregation voted to leave the United Church of Christ. We returned to our historic name, St. Peter’s Reformed Church, and affiliated with the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference (4C’s).
Today, St. Peter’s continues to honor our Reformed heritage while faithfully sharing the message of Jesus Christ. We seek to remain grounded in Scripture, grow in faith, and serve our community through worship, fellowship, and outreach.
