Sensory rooms are a place where individuals can go when they feel overstimulated — not simply a place for a time-out. A sensory room provides a calming environment where an overstimulated person can regain control of their emotions while enjoying sensory tools and toys. Sensory Room Information
If you or a loved one has a child with extra needs, we have a room for them! Sometimes services can be hard to sit through for children or adults with sensory processing difficulties or for those who become overwhelmed. We have a safe room filled with various sensory activities and items to help calm. Children and adults with ADHD, Down’s Syndrome, Traumatic Brain Injuries, delayed speech & communication skills, and more, can all benefit from a place that takes their needs into consideration.
Our Sensory Room will have an adult available in charge. The room is located in the lower level of the Education Building directly across the hall from the bathrooms. There is an audio speaker so that the sermon can still be heard if needed and we can accommodate specific needs. Just reach out to Judy Caldwell in advance to make this happen.
